U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)

The SBA Emerging Leaders Initiative is a free federal executive-level training initiative designed to help local entrepreneurs poised for growth in historically challenged communities. Over the course of seven months, participants get the opportunity to work with experienced mentors, attend specialized workshops and develop connections with their peers, city leaders, and the financial community.

The initiative has aided over 2,000 small business owners in sustaining and growing their businesses. Each year, eligible businesses can register from February through March, and training sessions begin in April.
